Nokia to buy Navteq for $8.1 billion

HELSINKI, Finland - Nokia Corp. is buying U.S. navigation-software maker Navteq Corp. for around $8.1 billion, the world's largest mobile phone maker said Monday. The deal has been approved by the boards of both companies, according to Nokia.


Nokia seems to be keen to expand into this navigation market specially with a lot of phone companies selling new unlocked phone models with built in navigation for Nokia the Nokia N95 is a great model with navigation system built in. I believe Nokia will be manufacture more phones with GPS.
